Lloyd D. Hackbart, age 92, of Merrill, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. Lloyd was born December 15, 1928, in Merrill, son of the late Marvin and Marie Hackbart. He married Mary Anne J. Bower on November 18, 1950. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2015. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army and is an honorable Korean War veteran. Lloyd was the former owner/operator of Knotty Pine Bar in Merrill and owned and operated Lloyd’s Tap Cleaning. For twenty years Lloyd tended bar at Social & Sick Bar in Merrill, and he also drove school bus. Lloyd enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, taking bus trips to Brewer’s games, and deer hunting. In his younger years Lloyd enjoyed playing baseball. He also enjoyed Dart ball and playing pool. Lloyd was a member of the Merrill Eagle’s Club and the ‘Popcorn Club.’ Lloyd is survived by his children, Lynn (Rick) Anderson of Merrill, Kim (LeRoy) Stolpa of Sheboygan, Lynelle (Chad) Sampo of Merrill, Lewis (Cindy) Hackbart and Todd Hackbart both of Merrill; 12 grandchildren, Brad, Justin, Alexander, Alecia, Andrew, Nathaniel, Breanna, Jacob, Meghan, Joseph, Karissa, and Emma; 6 great grandchildren, Melanie, Seth, Josh, MaKenzie, Jackson, and Emma; and his siblings, Marlene Zuelsdorff and Geno (Marion) Hackbart both of Merrill. Besides his wife and parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by an infant child; a great grandchild Landon; brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Arlene Hackbart; and brother-in-law, Ron Zuelsdorff. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church, village of Maine. The Rev. Donald Love will officiate. Burial will follow in Faith Cemetery – West town of Scott, with graveside military honors conducted by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638 Honor Guard. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M.
