Jeanette Belant, 86, Merrill passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Woodland Court, Merrill.
She was born December 12, 1937, in Merrill, daughter of the late Fred and Frieda (Krause) Mosser. (Moe-sure) Jeanette married Arthur “Artie” Belant and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2004.
For many years Jeanette was the Branch Manager of the Lincoln County Bank, in Gleason. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing sheepshead, gardening, canning, taking care of her lawn, bird watching and cooking for her family and friends. Jeanette truly enjoyed the time she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply loved and missed by many.
Survivors include her loving grandchildren, Mandi (Daniel) Holloway, Merrill, Ricky (Jenna) Marshall, Gleason, Josh (Jess) Belant, Merrill, Christin (John) Kysely, Gleason, and Stacey (Nick) Frisch, Antigo; her son-in-law, Bruce (Vicki) Marshall, Deerbrook; her great grandchildren, Austin Ronis, Matthew and Melanie Holloway, Owen, Paislee and Easton Marshall, Chloe and Caelyn Belant, Braxtyn and Julian Kysely, and Priscilla and Archie Frisch; one sister-in-law, JoAnn Belant, Merrill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Mark Belant and Debra Marshall.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, 903 E. 3rd Street, Merrill. Private family burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Town of Vilas at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life and a light luncheon for Jeanette will follow the funeral at the Gleason Bowling Center. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Woodland Court for the outstanding care and devotion you all shared with Jeanette while she was under your care.
